A Reflection for Valentine’s Day: The Love of Jesus, My Kuya and Best Friend Valentine’s Day is often celebrated with flowers, chocolates, and sweet words, but at its core, it is about love—the greatest kind of love that we have ever received: the love of Jesus. He is my best friend, my Kuya, my everything. His love is constant, never failing, and always present, whether in joy or sorrow. He loves me not because of what I do but simply because I am His. Saint Valentine, whose name is remembered today, was a witness to this same love. He lived during a time when expressing Christian love and faith was dangerous, yet he remained faithful. He helped others experience God's love, performing marriages in secret and caring for the persecuted. His life reminds me that love is not just about grand gestures but about selfless giving, even in small ways.
