“IT IS FINISHED.”

“It is finished.” — these final words of Jesus Christ on the cross are not words of defeat, but of fulfillment, victory, and complete love.

On this Good Friday, we are invited to pause and enter into the depth of His suffering. Jesus endured pain, rejection, humiliation, and the weight of our sins—not because He had to, but because He chose to love us completely. Every wound, every drop of blood, every moment of agony was offered for us.

When He said, “It is finished,” He was declaring that His mission was accomplished. The work of salvation was complete. The bridge between heaven and humanity was restored. His love held nothing back.

And yet, this message speaks powerfully to us today—especially in our present lives.

In a world where many young people struggle with pressure, insecurity, and the desire to be accepted, the cross reminds us: you are already loved fully and completely. Jesus did not wait for us to be perfect. He loved us at our worst, and still gave everything.

“It is finished” also means:

  • Your sins are forgiven
  • Your past does not define you
  • Your worth is already secured in God’s love

Sometimes we carry burdens—failures, regrets, hidden struggles. We try to prove ourselves, to earn love, to fix everything on our own. But Jesus’ final words invite us to let go. The work has already been done.

Today, as we remember His suffering, we are called not only to feel sorrow—but to respond with love:

  • To forgive as He forgave
  • To serve as He served
  • To love even when it is difficult

Because His love was not partial—it was complete.

Reflection Prayer:

Lord Jesus, You gave everything for me. In Your suffering, I see the depth of Your love. Teach me to trust that Your work in my life is not unfinished. When I feel weak, remind me that You have already won the victory. Help me to live each day in the light of Your sacrifice—
loving, forgiving, and believing that I am deeply loved. Amen.

Today, Good Friday, is not the end of the story—it is the beginning of hope. Because when Jesus said, “It is finished,” He also made way for a new life to begin in us.
