Tulisan sederhana tentang Mother Ignacia del Espiritu Santo.
A WELCOME GIFT
Let me share with you a beautiful story that happened in southern Mindanao Island on May 20, 2018. As we had our Year Beginning Assembly in the Provincial House at that time, (now Regional House) located at 536 Manga St., Matina-Davao City.
This is the story that at the end of the activity, all the new members of the Region (including myself) received a gift. At that time, I was so excited and curious, asking what is really inside this bag? I kept my desire while waiting for the right time to open it.
A welcome gift, a box with heart design (a travel sewing kit)., Wow, I was so tempted to know that it is hidden there. There were these memorable things in the gift which were unexpected “Needle, threads with different colors and a Pair of scissors. Upon seeing these things, I withdraw myself into a deep reflection and I whisper, “they gave me Mo. Ignacia, my Holy Mother”.
I recalled the moments when I started to love and imitate her, it was 2011. Having classes about her life, I was told that the three memorable things, my welcome gift, were the only things that she brought with her when she left her parents. Furthermore, I have the knowledge that those things were being used to support her entire life.
I then ask myself these questions: where are the old Needles, thread, and a pair of scissors? Did she bring those treasures with her on the mystery of September 10, 1748?
The answer is the treasures are still with and alive in each of her beatas, even me the Y generation beata and so with the next generation. She left it for us because all those things have been manifested in her life.
This welcome gift inspired me to have a new vision on how to maintain the spirit of my Foundress:
As a needle, keep maintaining the sharpness of my inner voice to be more discernment.
As a thread, to keep in mind the importance of union which is symbolized by the different colors in it, I am encouraged to embrace diversity.
As a pair of scissors, I have learned that the presence of a community and the gift of each person will bear fruits when there is a sense of belongingness.
After all, I realize that this welcome gift is the one to protect me as I feel the warmth of the habit I am wearing. Happy to be an RVM.

Puisi:
BUNDA IGNACIA
Mata indahmu bagaikan senja di sore hari
Menyejukkan hati, menenangkan jiwa…
Senyum manismu, mempesona
Membuat mata ini ingin terus memandangmu
Kaulah bundaku , bunda tempat segala rasa ku mengadu
Bunda yang mengajarkan ku arti sebuah pengorbanan.
Ajari aku menjadi sepertimu, menjadi perempuan hebat
Jangan biarkan aku berjuang sendiri mengejar cinta sejatiku
Tetaplah menjadi inspirasiku, tetaplah menjadi bagian dari cerita hidupku
Agar aku bisa sepertimu, yang setia mencintai Dia
Hingga akhir hidupku.
